After a successful mobilisation period, the Swan Hunter flexlay spread comprising 5500Te basket carousel and new build loading tower is now working hard in-field onboard the Lewek Constellation vessel, for flexible riser and flowline installation for the ENI OCTP Development Project offshore Ghana.
Spooling operations of the flexible pipelines, totalling 4000Te, went smoothly at NOV Kalundborg, Denmark. After transit down to the field, the equipment is now showing its impressive capability, installing the combination of large OD (470mm), high unit weight, flexible risers and flowlines, all possessing various large end fittings and subsea connectors.
Project Sponsor, Gerard Kroese, stated…
“We are very pleased to see the equipment working well for its intended purpose; to safely and efficiently install products for our clients. The equipment is being put to test straightaway installing such heavy products, however operational and client feedback has been very positive, and our team efforts are now paying off”
The equipment will continue spooling and installation operations up until early Q4 2017, and when complete will mark a successful milestone for Swan Hunter in delivering reliable and robust equipment to the subsea installation market.
